The Twilight films are returning to theaters this fall in honor of the 20th anniversary of author Stephenie Meyer’s original book. Lionsgate and Fathom Entertainment are partnering to re-release each Twilight film in theaters nationwide in the U.S. this fall from October 29 to November 2, in addition to other anniversary celebrations. The original Twilight will hit theaters on Wednesday, October 29; New Moon on Thursday, October 30; Eclipse on Friday, October 31; Breaking Dawn – Part 1 on Saturday, November 1; and Breaking Dawn – Part 2 on Sunday, November 2. On September 30, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers will release three special editions of Twilight – a deluxe hardcover collector’s edition, a 20th anniversary paperback, and a deluxe hardcover collection of the entire saga. The Twilight Saga YouTube channel has also been relaunched to share special clips and bonus content for fans. Starting September 11, Forks, Washington will host the Forever Twilight Festival, featuring Stephenie Meyer as the guest of honor. The festival will feature panels, themed parties, screenings, and more. Visitors can explore beaches, rainforests, and iconic locations from the books while attending. There will also be a Twilight in Concert U.S. tour from September 12 to November 30, featuring the film’s music synced to the original film, presented in its entirety. Finally, fans can purchase new merchandise coming this fall from Lionsgate and other retailers, and Warner Music Group is reissuing the Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse soundtracks on October 31. Since the films were released, the Twilight Saga has grossed more than $3.3 billion worldwide and made stars of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner. Last year, it was announced that Netflix would be releasing an animated version of Midnight Sun, a retelling of Twilight from the perspective of Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). |
